Child safety standards

Our commitment

The Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel are a teaching congregation. The people who use this site are the Principals and heads of our institutions, and the children in their care are the reason the institutions exist. Their safety comes before everything else we do.

We have no tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), or for any material that depicts, promotes or normalises it. This applies to this website, to the conclave mobile application, and to every event we run.

What is not allowed

On this website and in the conclave app, it is forbidden to upload, send, link to, request or store:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, real or generated
• Sexualised images or descriptions of anyone under 18
• Content that grooms, solicits, or attempts to arrange contact with a child for sexual purposes
• Content that promotes, glorifies or trivialises the sexual abuse or exploitation of children
• Identifying details of a child victim of abuse

This applies everywhere a person can contribute something — the photo gallery, questions submitted to speakers, messages to the conclave office, and any photograph uploaded during registration.

Who uses this service

This website and the conclave app are for adult delegates — school Principals, Brothers, staff and invited guests attending the AIAMS Conclave. They are not directed at children and children are not registered as users.

Registration requires a mobile number verified by a one-time code, and every registration is reviewed by an organiser before it is confirmed. Accounts are therefore not anonymous to us.

How we prevent and respond

Prevention

• Every registration is verified by one-time code and approved by a person before it becomes active
• Photographs uploaded at registration are checked before an ID card is issued
• Questions and gallery contributions are moderated before they are published
• Messages between delegates and the office are private to those two parties and are visible to the organising team
• There is no open, public, child-accessible chat anywhere in the service

If we find or are told about CSAE

• The content is removed immediately
• The account is suspended
• The material and associated records are preserved for the authorities and are not deleted, even at the account holder's request
• We report to the police and to the appropriate authority under Indian law, and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where the matter falls within its remit
• The Provincial and the institution concerned are informed so that action can be taken under our own safeguarding procedures

We do not treat this as a content-moderation matter to be settled internally. A credible report goes to the authorities.

• The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015
• The Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021
• The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, as it applies to offences against children
• Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy

Where the law of another country also applies to a report, we comply with that as well.
